ROY ALEXANDER JONES, JR.

June 28, 1951 ~ December 3, 2024

Honoring the life of Roy Alexander Jones Jr., a beacon of light and love who graced this world from June 28, 1951 to December 3, 2024. Roy was a devoted father, cherished grandfather, loving family man, and steadfast friend.

Roy Jones Jr., born in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy Jones Sr. and May Francis Jones

(Rogers). He was lovely raised by his beloved grandmother, Leatha Laury.

A proud Texan, Roy graduated from Oliver

Wendell Holmes High School in 1969, where he was known for his dedication to academics and his strong sense of community. His talents and determination earned him a scholarship to attend the prestigious University of California, Berkeley, where he further honed his skills and character.

After completing his studies, Roy chose to

serve his country by joining the United States Army, where he would go on to dedicate 22 years of his life to military service. His commitment, leadership, and courage left an indelible mark on those he served with and on the many lives he touched.

Roy’s legacy is defined not only by his military service but by his deep love for family, his unwavering sense of duty, and his kindness to all who knew him.

Roy will be remembered as a loving father, a proud veteran, and a man of great integrity. His contributions to his country, his family, and his community will forever be cherished.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his siblings Pamela, Angela, and Jeffrey.

He is survived by his children, Tesa Jones, Tiffany Jones, Raji Matthews-Jones, DaZhane Jones, and Desirae Jones. Grandchildren Brittani, Aries, Matthew, Darius, and Shyla, and great-grandchild Kariah. As well as siblings, Shelia Lawrence (Robert), LeRoy Beal Jr., Tony Beal, and Francine Beal and Uncle Joe Jones (Jewel).

Interment: December 27, 2024 1:30 pm - August 26, 2025 2:30 pm
