Patricia Jane Martin was born to the late Ernest and Louise Patterson on June 20, 1936, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Patricia attended school in Spartanburg, South Carolina, prior to moving to New York City, where she furthered her education.
Patricia married William Martin, Jr. on January 2, 1959, and from this 65-year union, she became the proud mother of 5 children: Bettie, Terry, Alfred, Patrick and Cynthia, ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Patricia career began at the New York Telephone Company before relocating to San Antonio, Texas. She worked at Sommers Drug Store, Texas Pharmaceutical Company, Frost Bros Department Store, Alamo Iron Works and Harris-Farinon Corporation until she retired.
Patricia was a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church for many years before moving her membership to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted member of the Dorcas Circle, the Golden Age Auxiliary and the Senior Choir until her health began to decline.
Patricia passion was interior designs.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, William Martin, Jr., her children, Bettie Sue Nelson, Terry Ayala, Alfred Martin (Karen), Patrick Martin (Andrea), Cynthia Amires (Donald), ten grandchildren, Blake Martin, Marty Martin, Tiara Amires (Jay), Chaise Amires, Devon Satterfield, Kaila Thomlinson (Steven), Dallas Satterfield, Xavier Martin, Jevon Williams, Christian Williams (Alexis), eleven great-grandchildren, Taniya, Jordan, Avah, Ivy, Lailah, Aunesty, Jayda, Susie, Brenin, Dakota, Eithan, one sister, Ernestine Smith and her beloved dog, Toby. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Louise Patterson, brother, James Harold Patterson and her sister, Joan Patterson-Moton.
