Kenneth Raye Guiy, Sr. was born to Clovis Guiy, Sr. and Margie Brown on November 21, 1954, in Beaumont, Texas. He attended and graduated from Washington State High School. After high school he spent time in Job Corp before he enlisted in the Army where he served four years as a radar inspector in Germany. He got out of the Army in 1975.
He married Betty Jean Finnell on June 12, 1976. To their union was born a son Kenneth Raye Guiy, Jr. Kenneth worked as a professional truck driver until he suffered a life-changing injury to his knee. In 1988, Kenneth moved him and his family to San Antonio, Texas where he went to college where he studied Radiology Technology. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree. He worked at University Hospital as a Radiologic Technologist from 1994 until he retired as a CT Technology Supervisor.
Kenneth accepted Christ in his mid-twenties. He served as a Deacon at Church of the Living God Temple II for two years. He finally accepted his calling as a Minister for the Lord in 1995. He became Pastor of the Church of the Living God Temple II in 1997. There he served, preaching, and teaching the word of God until the Lord called him home on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Clovis Guiy, Sr. and Mother Margie Guiy, brothers Clovis Guiy, Jr., Harry Guy and one sister Mary Louise Turner Guy.
Kenneth was loved by many. Whatever he could do for others he did it with a smile. He leaves to mourn his departure, wife Betty Jean Guiy, son Kenneth Raye Guiy, Jr.; three grandchildren, Laila, Maddison, and Harmonie; God children, Bryan Raye Finnell (Celinda), Latressa Piert (James Trail), Charles Adams, and Sherry Thomas, Darrian I. Q. Cannon; Sisters Martha Fontenot (Glendale) and Vickie Trimble of Beaumont, Texas, Brother Frank Guy of California; Brother-in-Laws Paul Finnell (Annie), Clint Finnell, Curley Landry and Sister-in-Laws Norma Robinson of Beaumont, Texas and Rose Bryant of San Antonio, Texas. He also has many nieces and nephews friends and adopted family the Bedford’s.
We are truly going to miss uncle Kenny he was a true man of God and a loving soul he married me and my husband and this year will be 17yrs we love you uncle Kenny and you will truly be missed especially the phone calls and words of wisdom rest in peace
