BERNICE J FONTENOT

Bernice J. Fontenot was born in Thorndale, TX. Her beloved mother, Katie M. Mitchell and father James W. Jones, moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when she was an infant. She attended elementary and middle school in Corpus Christi. They moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she attended Frederick Douglass High School. She also attended Hicks Beauty School.

 
Bernice married David Fontenot Jr. from Liberty, Texas. She worked in several nursing homes in San Antonio. Her final employmemt was at the Carver Library, before her disability and retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, two sons, one daughter, and two nieces.

 
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Patruda Jones -Allen (Lars), two sons, Karl (Joyce) and Wendell. Grandchildren: Tuesday, Karl Jr., Karla, Aisha (Ricardo), and Ashida. Great-grandchildren: Shandie, Tavi, Amari, Kacey, and Kaleigha. Niece: Patricia Hall, Grandnephew: Anthony Hall. Also, great-grandnephews and nieces.
