LASHONDA EVETTE ELLISON

March 26, 1972 ~ August 22, 2023

Lashonda Evette Ellison was born on March 26, 1972, to Glenn M. Ellison and Wiona B. Ellison in San Antonio TX. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and loved to give thanks and praises to God.

Lashonda known as "Shonda" to family and friends attended Herman Hirsch Elementary School, Jefferson Davis Middle School, and graduated from Sam Houston High School. Later in life, Shonda worked at the La Petite Academy School for many years. She grew such a love for children; she became the godmother for several children: Larenzo Jones Jr., Zanieda Jones, Lyalanela Rich, and Kamdyn Perkins.

Shonda enjoyed technology, particularly computers and music.  She would often DJ at family functions and events.  She mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends; and she never met a stranger.  To know Shonda was to love her. Over 10 years ago, Shonda met a special friend, Eddie King.  Where you saw Shonda, you saw Eddie who stayed by her side until God called her home.

Shonda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Deacon Julius Edward Bowens Sr., and Jean America Bowens who she is now singing and celebrating with in the heavenly choir.

Shonda was an only child and will be greatly missed by all her parents, family, and friends. She leaves an abundance of laughter and love to cherish her memories too, her parents Glenn and Wiona Ellison, grandmother, Juanita Hall, grandfather, Loil Ellison Jr. (Virgina) along with a wealth of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friend Eddie.

Rest well, Shonda! You can now say: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
