KENNETH QUINCY ROBINSON

May 1, 1950 ~ January 30, 2023

Kenneth Quincy Robinson, loving husband, and father of three, passed away at the age of 72 on Monday, January 30, 2023, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on May 1, 1950, in Fort Worth, TX to John and Ida Robinson. Both his parents and siblings, Rochelle and Johnny F. Robinson preceded him in death.

Kenneth graduated from Green Trimble Technical High School, Fort Worth, TX and attended Bishop College, Dallas, TX before joining the military. He served for a short time as a medic in the U.S. Navy. After completing his LVN training (licensed vocational nurse), he joined the U.S Army and served until he was medically retired as a Staff Sergeant. Kenneth also retired from the US Postal Service where he worked his way up from postal carrier to Postmaster of Hondo, TX. He took pride in his work and was known for being hard but fair.

Kenneth was a faithful member of Grace First Baptist Church for nearly three decades, where he was a member of the Men’s Choir. He was also a devoted member of the San Antonio Zulu Association for 27 years, serving as Vice President and Treasurer. He also served as Treasurer for the Stevens High School Booster Club. Kenneth enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He had a special talent for fixing any and everything. Just give him a few minutes and he’d figure it out.

Kenneth and his wife Karen (Hinton) Robinson together raised two children Kendall Q. Robinson (Houston, TX), and Kayla L. Robinson (Los Angeles, CA). He also leaves a son, Kenneth Q. Robinson Jr. and two grandsons.

Additional family left to reflect his life and cherish his memories are his mother-in-law, Verta Hinton; In-laws, Michael Hinton (Debbie), Julian Hinton (Vickie) and Tyrone Hinton (Angie); special cousins, Ellen, Jordan, and Julian Smith; a host of nephews and nieces; dearest friends Alton and Edna Kates and Mona and Larry Stephens

    Alton & Edna Kates❣️

  2. Wow, can’t believe you’re gone now too. Give my mom and your brother a hug for me. To his wife and kids, I’m so sorry.

  3. Our condolences and deepest sympathy to Karen and the Robinson family on the loss of Ken. He will truly be missed. Ken was a great guy and friend. We will miss his services as a member of GFBC Usher’s Ministry, on the BBQ grill during numerous activities at Grace and as a member of our Lunch Bunch. Our prayer is that God will watch over and strengthen his family during this difficult time. Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning. May Ken rest in peace. All the best and Godspeed.

  4. Condolences to the family. My prayers go out to you. May God give you peace and comfort today and always.
    Blessings,
    Tootie Blackmon King
