Clara Mae Ricks was born on 13 January 1926 to George and Ida (Williams) Pace. She was the 21st child born to this union. They lived in Tucker, Texas before moving to Palestine, Texas where she lived until she met her husband Robert Ricks.
They move to San Antonio, Texas after they were married to start their family. During this union had two sets of twins. Roy (Roy Jr. Cindy), Robert Jr. (Lauana, Leatrice, Treva) Edmond (Emerald Shay, Redmond, Adolpho), and Edward (Sheree, Edward Jr.).
Clara was a long-time member of St. Joseph AME Church where she served on the usher board for many years. Clara also attended St. Philips college where she took a class in shorthand helping to excel her career as a social worker. She was also active in her community becoming involved in many social organizations for which she received many accolades for her work.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ricks Sr. and two sons Robert Jr, Edward Sr.
She is survived by two sons Roy Sr, of San Antonio, Texas and Edmond of Houston, Texas. 9 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
