LOUIS WASHINGTON

June 19, 1952 ~ April 29, 2022

Louis Anthony Washington was born June 9, 1952 to John Clyde Washington and Jessie Washington Allen.

Louis attended Cuney Elementary School, Poe Junior High School and graduated in 1970 from Highlands High School. He went on to St. Philip’s College and earned an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics.

Louis was baptized at an early age and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church with his brother in Christ and best friend for life Lawrence Walters.

Louis worked as the manager of the Shoe Department at Montgomery Ward before leaving to start his own dream business “Washington Towing” which he proudly provided services to many until his health declined.

On November 15, 2016, Louis married Barbara Warner and enjoyed life and love of adventures until his death. He enjoyed hanging out with her son Donald and his family.

Louis had many interest and hobbies in his life. At an early age, he learned to play piano and participated in the neighborhood band. However his greatest love was spending time on the water. He learned to water ski and every summer he participated with the Walters Family in the annual Flotilla Boating and Fishing Club Picnic. Eventually, as an adult, he became a member and served until his passing. He enjoyed taking the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Gulf Coast while fishing.

Louis enjoyed family and friends and attended events in support of them. He was always willing to help people in any way he could. There was never a day you did not see him smile, even when he wasn’t feeling well. His big caring heart will truly be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Denise, his father, John Washington, his brother Irving Washington and his step-father Bill Allen.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Barbara, his mother Jessie Allen, his children Terence (Becky) Davis, Jonathan (Ellen) Washington, Ivory (Tim) Ramsey of Ft. Worth, Texas, Donald (Jennifer) Treadwell, siblings John Washington Jr., Paul (Rose) Washington, Juanita (William) Taylor, Beverly (Michael) Shepherd, John Washington Jr. of McAllen, Texas, Mark (Gloria) Washington of Hereford, Texas, sister-in-law Betty Washington, step-brothers Willie Allen and Ronald Allen and step-mother Guadalupe Washing of Hereford, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
