On January 18, 2022, Mable Loud Johnson’s life took a turn ~ no more confusion, wondering, wandering or wanting. Transitioning from this earth to Resting in Peace.
Born September 6, 1935, in Fayette County Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Charlie M. Loud, Sr. and Anna Scott Loud. Seven Boys and Four girls; 11 total – Mable was the ninth. (Milton, Alton, David, Daniel, Anna Mae, Frank, Myrtle, Charlie Jr., Mable, Dennis, Louise) Mable being the last to go: This Clan of Louds have finished their Race. Mable loved her parents and siblings more than anything, she always asked: “how’s everybody doing?”
Flatonia and the surrounding small towns of Buckner Creek and Cistern (to name a few) was where Mable lived her youth and attended school. She graduated from Flatonia High School where she played on the Girls Baseball Team. She was saved and baptized at an early age in Flatonia.
Mable relocated to San Antonio to be near her sisters in 1956 where she gave birth to her 1st child Deborah Rose (Father Ray Grant). She began doing domestic work with her Sister Anna Mae for the Pettit’s and later began working for the Casseb’s. Mable was faithful, loving, and highly regarded these families. Following in her sister's footsteps she began a cooking career at Luby’s Cafeteria, Millsap’s Inc. and retiring from Methodist Hospital with the Dietary Nutrition Department.
Mable joined in Holy Matrimony with Ervin Johnson Sr. (deceased 1983) in March 1961. This union resulted in a blended family of 5 children, Ervin Jr. (Carolyn), Ruby Anne (J.R. Deceased)-His two, Deborah Rose (Robert Deceased)-Her one, Diana Lynn (Deceased) and Dennis Wayne – Their two together. The family joined West End Baptist Church at this time. They later joined Wheatly Heights Baptist Church and finally Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she has remained a member.
Mable worked hard and played hard, she rarely missed work. She loved dressing up and dancing. She loved visiting friends and family on the weekends. Mable also loved eating out and shopping.
Mable leaves behind to cherish her memories: Children-Ervin Jr. (Carolyn) Newport News, VA, Ruby Anne, Schertz, TX, Deborah Rose, Houston, TX, and Dennis Wayne (Chantilly, VA). Grandchildren-Erica, Dontique, Samuel (Baby Sam), Chavon and Grant. Eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister-in-law Rosetta Loud along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
