Maurice Hosea Williams was born on April 18,1958 in Galesburg, Illinois to Kenneth Williams and Mary Ruth Froniabarger Williams. He departed this life on December 1, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. "Hosea" was the fifth of six siblings, and he is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lennis Wyatt, DeWayne Williams and Davey Joe Williams.
Hosea graduated from Marshall High School after moving to San Antonio, Texas in May of 1976. He began his 4-year service in the United States Army in 1977 and, upon completion of his service, he worked at Coca-Cola before joining City Public Service Energy as an equipment operator. He was later promoted to a lead foreman and worked in that position for 28 years until he retired in August of 2011.
In 1984, he met and married Wanda Gee. In 1991, he married Sharon Haysten and the couple had been married for 27 years. This created a blended family including Damon Kinte, Tiffany Chatel, Maurice Lamont, Lauren Lei, Matthew Jamaal, and Maya Reye.
Maurice started his walk-in faith at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of Rock of Faith Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the usher's ministry. In 2013, he became a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin L. Nelson.
Maurice loved playing pool, listening to music, watching sports and spending time with family and friends. He was also a member of Lancers Civic and Social Club for over 8 years. Maurice was a man's man! He was a very loving, caring, funny, strong and fly gentleman. He enjoyed laughs with family and friends. His spirit and gap-toothed smile lit up the room and, while he will definitely be missed, the memories will carry on forever.
Celebrating his life and cherishing his memory are his wife, Sharon Williams, children Rev. Damon Gee (Sabriya), Tiffany Copeland, Maurice Johnson, Lauren Kelley (Cory), Matthew Williams (Stephanie) and Maya Williams; grandchildren Cameron, Dorian, Xavier, Dominic, Cailyn, Elijah, Jonah and Micah; and brothers Ed Smith (Teresa) and Ronald Palmer; his beloved CPS Gas and Electric crew who were like brothers to him; and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and, friends.

Maurice and my late husband (Fred Biddieman Brock) were really good friends. Maurice would always come to our house and play dominos and if Im not mistaken sometimes he played cards also. To have know Maurice was to have loved Maurice, gone way too soon. RIP
To Ed and T and Wanda and the boys- our condolences to all of you and the remaining family. We lose our love ones it seems too soon but God is always with us. May he continue to keep you all in his loving arms to guide and comfort you.
Judy, Wayne and Shayne.
