Dawud Ameen Shakir

On February 14, 2021, Dawud “David” A. Shakir transitioned from earthly to eternal life at the age of 66. David was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 23, 1954 to David and Jean Wise.
David met his wife Barbara in Stuttgart, Germany in 1984. From the time they met, they were inseparable. Even though he never had any biological children, he loved and embraced his stepchildren as if they were his own. David was a very loving and quiet man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a home body and enjoyed watching CNN, sports and the history channel.
David retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He also retired from Allied Barton Security, where he worked for more than 15 years as a Lead Security Officer.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Barbara Shakir, parents, David and Jean Wise (Chicago, IL), grandmother Hattie Woods (Chicago, IL), sisters Debra Wise (Chicago, IL), Deirdre Wise (Chicago, IL), granddaughter Gloria Miss (San Antonio, TX) and a niece Laurie Wise (Chicago, IL).
