COSTON T. CLIFTON

Coston Thomas Clifton, 85, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on October 11,

2020 in San Antonio, Texas.

Coston Thomas Clifton was born in Anniston, Alabama to the late John and

Gladys Clifton on September 15, 1935. He married Carrie Phifer Clifton on May

7, 1988 in San Antonio, Texas.  He retired after 24 years as a Contracting Officer

for the U.S. Government Civil Service.  He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force

and retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army reaching the rank of Sergeant

First Class.  Coston received many awards and accolades for his dedication and

service to our country.  He was a member of the 19th Masonic District Blue Bonnet

Lodge #192 in San Antonio, Texas.  He will be sadly missed by all who had the

honor of being a part of his life.

Coston is preceded in death by his father, John Clifton; mother, Gladys Patterson;

son, Cherray Clifton; brother, Mitchell Patterson; four sisters Mary Mustafa, Gwen

Patterson, Nettie Jean Patterson and Catherine Patterson.

He is survived by his wife Carrie Clifton; three children, Michel Gardner, Calvin

Clifton and Marlene Dailey (Patrick); two step-children, Jacqueline Liddell and

Gloria Phifer (Harry); four brothers, Claude Clifton (Dot), Charles Patterson

(Mary), Bob Patterson and Ralph Patterson; sister, Myrtle Patterson; along with

seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren host of nieces, nephews, relatives

and friends to cherish his memories.
