Alfred Lee Clark, my God given Soulmate, a Beloved Husband, Understanding Father, Caring Hero, Proud Provider, Strongest Papa, Grateful Brother, Amazingly Happy Father-in-Law, Sincere Fun Brother-in-Law, Supporting Magnificent Uncle, Happily Hugging Cousin, Fun Fisherman, Faithful Lifetime Friend, Teacher, Motivator, Eastside Rocket Coach, Loyal Employee, Faithful Bible Reader, has blessed us with 64 years of everlasting Love and will be dearly missed.
Alfred L. Clark was born July 14, 1956 to the late Fletcher Clark, Sr. and Arretta Clark in Dallas, Texas. He was the fourth of six children and the first of the siblings to transition to the realm of the divine on August 11, 2020 after 29 days in a hospital room. God had a plan and a place ready in heaven far above and he leaves behind all those he truly loved. Alfred was no stranger to the creator having been brought up in the church. He accepted Jesus Christ at an Early age and was currently a member of True Vision Church N.E. Campus. He prayed daily that he could be a blessing to God and his Family.
Alfred attended public school in Dallas ISD, George Washington Carver and Amelia Earhart Elementary, Thomas A. Edison Jr. High, and graduated from L. G. Pinkston High School Class of 1974. He then furthered his education as he played basketball along the way at St. Philip’s Jr. College where he received his Associate’s Degree then his Bachelor’s Degree at Midwestern State University (Class of 1978), and received his Master’s Degree in Administration at Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Alfred worked a total of 35 years in education before retiring, 29 of those years were dedicated to the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) where he was a Teacher, PE Coach, Personnel Appraiser, Assistant Principal, Principal, Personnel Officer for Human Resources, and Executive Director of Student & Academic Support Services. It is evident that he made a positive and lasting impression on his students and co-workers by treating everyone with respect and hugs; he smiled so bright there was never a dark cloud he let in his presence.
Alfred, a gentle giant, met and married his Jr. College sweetheart Cynthia after dating for six years. Alfred and Cynthia Darlene Williams united in Holy Matrimony on August 8, 1981 and were best of friends for 39 years. God blessed them with two handsome young men, Alfred Lee Clark, Jr. (“Al”) and Derrek Eugene Clark (“D”) who are truly falling into their father’s shoes. One of Alfred’s greats blessing was to be called Papa by his two beautiful granddaughters Aaliyah and Cydni who received his unconditional Love. Alfred leaves a legacy of love and devotion that will forever live on in their hearts.
Alfred, nicknamed “Pooh,” enjoyed family, hosting family and friend gatherings, and barbecuing at his house where his doors were always open. He enjoyed cooking, eating, traveling, fishing, basketball, dancing, singing Charlie Wilson songs (Smile), reunions, birthday celebrations, attending church, RETIREMENT. In his own words: “Life Is Good” and “All we have to do is breathe.”

Mr.Clark was my boss for several years under Student Support. He was truly a great happy, man. Always smiling. I always looked forward to the end of the month text from him saying, hey ladies, it’s payday and we didn’t even have to go to work. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
Mr. Clark was a very sweet person and will greatly be missed. During his retirement he and I would walk the
grounds of Copernicus and have very long talks about our retirement. God Bless his family. My prayers are with y’all.
My condolences to Al’s family. Al and I were principals at the same time, and he was wonderful to work with. When he went to work in HR, it was a joy to work with him. He was very professional, respectful, and a true gentleman. Rest In Peace Al.
My sincere condolences to the family of Al Clark. We were colleagues in SAISD for 10 years. What I remember most about Al was his infectious smile! He lit up any room he entered! He could always be counted on for a listening ear and sound advice. Heaven has surely gained another angel! Rest easy, your life was well lived!
Peace and blessings to his family.
May Peace be with you

Mr. Clark was my 1st principal when I was hired with SAISD in 1998. He was very friendly and always supported his staff and our students. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to start my teaching career. May you rest in peace.Â
Mr. Clark was an amazing person. He was always smiling and showed so much compassion to the children he worked with as well as the people. My condolences to Mrs. Clark and family. I will forever be grateful for having experienced their kindness.Â
Mr. Clark hired me in 1998 right out of college. He always was so supportive and believed in me. I will always be so grateful for him and everything he taught me. He was amazing. My condolences to the whole family and May he Rest In Peace.
Condolences to the Clark family. Love you Mrs. Clark praying for you.
My sincere condolences to Al’s Family and friends. Al always had a friendly smile on his face and an uncanny way of making you feel good. He was my friend and someone I truly respected. May he Rest In Peace and May God give everyone who love him comfort.
I will greatly miss Mr. Clark.  He was my coworker, mentor, boss, and best friend.  The one thing I will forever miss is his laughter and our crazy sense of humor.  I loved his high pitched, funny storytelling voice.  We would laugh at everything—even when it wasn’t the right time!  I will miss his monthly texts “Good morning, it’s payday!  Isn’t retirement the best and we get paid for not working!† He was loved and admired and will be missed by all.  Save those jokes for me Al until we meet again!
I just saw this today as I was searching for Mr. Clark. Mr. Clark was my principal for the last year that I was at Booker T Washington Elementary. He was a gentle giant and a true leader. I am so sorry for your loss. He was very well-loved and respected.
Mr. Clark gave me my first teaching job, fresh out of college. He was an amazing leader and role model, not only for the staff but also for the children he loved so much. He was devoted to his profession, and I am forever grateful that he gave me my first chance at teaching. Thank you, Mr. Clark for believing in me! You were not only kind and generous with your support, but you also took care of me. May the Lord bless your family.
