Hardy Burrell Jr was born on July 8, 1928 in Pittsburg, TX to the parentage of Lela White Dunson and Hardy Burrell Sr.
He attended school in Pittsburg, TX, and completed his education from Fredrick Douglas High School in 1946. After graduating from high school Hardy decided to continue his education. He attended St. Phillips College in San Antonio, TX but it was shortly interrupted due to him enlisting in the United States military. Hardy served his country during the Korean War from 1950 through 1952 and was later honorably discharged. After being discharged from the military Hardy returned to St. Phillips College to finish what he started. He proudly obtained his Associate's degree in 1954. Once finishing college, he began a career at Central Distributing were he respectfully retired.
Hardy lived his life surrounded by family and friends.
On Thursday, May 21, 2020, this servant’s assignment was complete, and he answered God’s call. Hardy was indeed a loving and charismatic man who truly loved the Lord. He was well respected and loved by his family and friends. Hardy was preceded in death by his parents; sister Maxine; brothers Roy and Roger, and daughter Gwynette Victoria Phillips. His laughter and humble spirit will be sorely missed by his daughter Kathy Burrell; grandchildren Adriene Roberson (Frederick), Jacquette, and Jack. Great-grandchildren Aaron (Bubba) and Jacoby (Coco), Jace, and Adore; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends from around the country.
He will be missed but not forgotten.
