LENORIA HARRIS BUTLER

July 24, 1930 ~ March 24, 2020

Her favorite scripture: Psalms 27; The Lord is my light God my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

Lenoria Harris Butler, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 24th 2020. She was born to Jimmie and Sarah Harris on July 24th 1930 in Hulka, MS. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 12 years old and began her work as a Christian at Center Hill Baptist Church. Lenoria had an unwavering faith in God. She exemplified true love, grace and a heart to serve the Lord in countless ways over her lifetime. Singing in the choir she used her voice as a vessel to praise and serve the Lord and assisted by being the church secretary.

Lenoria was preceded in death by her beloved husband CSM (ret) Samuel Butler. And by her twelve siblings. She was an exceptional woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother, Deaconess and a prayer warrior.

 She leaves to cherish a loving and caring son, BG (ret) Remo Butler, daughter-in-law Mylitta Butler, three grandchildren, Brandy Butler-Mack, Shawn Butler, Remo Samuel Butler II, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, the funeral service will be private.

I remember when Dad and Mother Butler were members of Emmanuel AME Church.  Everyone regarded them as pillars of the church and persons whose opinions were deeply respected.  Mother Butler exemplified Titus 2:4; she was a shining example of Christain womanhood, always showing respect for her husband and others, demonstrating self-control, and engaging in the work of God.
