My brother Desmer was an excellent brother who loved his family, community and fellow man. He had a special spirit of peace that made all feel comfortable in his presence. Thank God for you. Rev. Dr. R. Benson.
I attended St. Philips Jr College with both Desmer and Linda. My fondest memories of them are of all ways seeing them together. It demonstrated their love and support of each other, in life, and now in death. Whenever and wherever they saw me on campus, they would always say “Hi Massie.” It’s the simple things that people do in life, which reflect that they have the spirit of GOD within them. For how can one say you love GOD whom you have not seen, and hate your brother, whom you see everyday. So we know that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the LORD. Rest on in glory Desmar, and when I arrive to join everyone in glory, I expect to see you and Linda at the gate, saying once again to me, “Hi Massie.” Love always in the name of the FATHER, SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT.” Massie L. Wilson, M.Ed.
I always use to tell myself I wish I had Mr. Benson for my teacher! He was the coolest teacher at Zachary Middle School! You will be missed truly!â¤ï¸
One of the nicest teachers I can remember. One of the few that made an impact. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.
Mr Benson was my 6th grade teacher at Sunset Hills Elementary School. He was a great teacher and will be remembered always by former students in my class. Â

Mr. Benson was my 6th grade teacher at Sunset Hills Elementary School in 1971-72. It was a privilege to have been in his class. He was always happy, kind and an amazing teacher!
Mr. Benson was my favorite teacher at Zachry Middle School. He always had a smile on his face and at some point during class he would come around and give you a strong pat on he back. He will truly be missed. Over 20 years and I still think about this great teacher I had.

Mr. Benson was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and a funny guy. He was my favorite teacher at Zachry Middle School. At some point during his class he would come by and give you a pat in the back. I am glad I had him as a teacher and more importantly a role model.
Mr. Bensen was a student teacher for Mrs. Herridge (my 5th grade teacher) and one of my teachers in 6th Grade (science?). He faced an unfortunate episode started by several girls, but was rightfully vindicated. He was an intelligent and kind gentleman. He respected his students and was a good teacher. By younger sister, Terri, had him later.
