ROY DOUGLAS WHITE, SR.

August 15, 1927 ~ July 2, 2019

Roy D. White, Sr. was born  August 15,1927 in Uvalde, Texas to Malcolm and Elvira White. He had two siblings.

Roy served his country in the United States Army and was part of World War II. After military service Roy continued civil service at Fort Sam Houston Army Post as a senior clerk.

Roy also played baseball with the Chicago American Giants in 1946 and 1947 and played with the Ligons Allstars in 1948 then played with the Boston Braves in 1949 after which changed their name to the Atlanta Braves and continued to play from 1950 to 1957.

Roy married Claudia B. White in 1950. They became parents in 1954 to their son, Roy D. White,Jr. Claudia preceded him in death in 2005.

Roy Douglas White, Sr. is survived by his son, Roy D .  Jr.(wife Monica N.), grandsons Chris V. and Keith O. White, granddaughter Kimberly M White, great-granddaughter Rebekah; great-grandson, Christopher V. White II, great-granddaughters Ciara White and Kaydence N. Mergele and great-grandson Devin WD White.
