NORMA C. WILLIAMS

October 31, 1931 ~ April 25, 2019

 

Norma Lee Campbell Williams was born on October 31, 1931 in Comfort, Texas to Jessie
Norman and Druscilla Franklin Campbell. She was the oldest of two siblings. All have preceded
her in death. She attended public schools in the San Antonio Independent School District
graduating from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1949. After graduating from high school Norma  attended St. Phillip's College.             .

Norma entered employment in retail – working at Frost Bros., a high fashion retail chain in San
Antonio for over 30 years until they closed the last store in North Star in 1989. Wanting to
continue to work in retail Norma began employment with Julian Gold, on September. 11, 1989
an upscale retail outpost focusing on ladies glamourous shoes and high end bridal wear. After
26 years Norma retired on June 30, 2015. Because of her flair for fashion, Norma’s great joy was helping women find that perfect outfit for special occasions.

Norma was married to Milas W. Williams on October 17, 1967 and he preceded her in death.
There was one child born to this union.

On April 25, 2019 God called Norma home to be with him leaving to cherish her memories her
children: Jessie Benard (Ruby) Campbell of Dallas, Texas, Norma Jo (Gregory) Hemphill,
Richard Hodge (JoAnn) Johnson, Fred Curtis (Nichole) Johnson and Gertie Ann Williams all of
San Antonio, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and special friends: Lula Mae Caruthers, Florida Mae Rice, Isabel Perez, Patty Lynch
and Sherri Lubianski.

  1. Remembering our daily After work talks like if we hadn’t seen each other all day and yet we worked in the same dept. At Julian Gold. Oh what memories.  Norma was an extraordinary friend more like our NaNa.

  6.  Ms. Williams was the type of person who inspired integrity in those around her; she encouraged others to be the best people they could be. That’s reflected in your life. Please accept my deepest sympathies for the passing of your special mom. We are praying that your broken heart is healed through God’s never-ending love.
