Anthony Wayne Preacher

December 11, 1964 ~ February 22, 2018

A Loving son was born on December 11, 1964 to parents Madison Lee II and Geraldine Preacher. Anthony passed away on February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the age of 53. He and his late father had Esophageal Cancer.

Anthony was a cradle roll baby at Union Baptist Church and was baptized there by his uncle Rev. J. L. Taylor, Pastor. Anthony attended public schools in the SAISD graduating from Sam Houston High School in 1983. He then attended St. Philips College pursuing certification in welding.

In 1985 he began working as a MIC Operator before beginning a long career at City Public Service. He first worked as a laborer with the Underground Department and held various positions working his way up to Systems Operator Dispatcher, a position he held for 18 years, serving a total of 23 years at CPS before retiring.

Anthony's life changed, and he renewed his relationship with God. In 2006 he joined Christian World Church where he served faithfully in the media department as a camera operator for nearly 6 years. His work was seen regularly on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and was streamed online internationally through the Christian World live stream outlet.

Men, women and youth have messaged the media department in broken English to thank our leaders for making the gospel available in areas where Christianity is not popular. Anthony made a difference.

He often forfeited the opportunity to rest as a congregant choosing instead to serve regardless of the condition of his body. He loved people unconditionally, and he never complained. Without even speaking, he shared the power of the gospel with his devotion to servitude. It's no accident that his name is Preacher. His team salutes his faithfulness! Christian World Ministries will forever be marked by the golden memories of our dear brother.

Preach on, Preacher! Preach on!

Anthony worked faithfully as an assistant to Pastor Yuchinski Kyle and as a leader in the men's ministry. He worked in media under the leadership of Pastor Jon Coker until he became disabled.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Mother-Geraldine Preacher Hunt, Step-father – Barney Ray Hunt; Sisters – Antoinette Sullivan, Nicole Price; Son – Anthony Preacher (mother Lovie Newman, siblings Michelle & Ryan Newman), Daughter – Tori Preacher (mother Vickie Marx & sister Michelle); Step-sister – Bridget Hunt, Step-brother – Barney Ray Hunt; Aunts – Priscilla Preacher Armstead, Sheliah (Clarence) Carson, Ida Mae Fisher, Lorraine Roberson, and Deborah (Wilburt), Nobles; Uncles – Benjamin Preacher, Demps (Elodia) Hunt; and Rev.
